Wings Leaps into Top 20 TMCs in UK

Wings Travel Management has leaped up the UK’s Top 50 TMC listing for 2017 to now rank as 20th largest travel management company – a huge 25 places ahead of Wings’ 45th position last year.

The annual guide to the UK’s leading 50 travel management companies is compiled by the respected corporate sector publication, Buying Business Travel, from information supplied by Britain’s TMCs during a two-month period in March and April. The information is gathered via a comprehensive questionnaire that includes questions on financial performance, type of business travel transactions, market sectors, technology tools and innovation in the previous calendar year.

Wings Travel Management strengthened its position in the UK significantly in 2016 with the acquisition of Grosvenor Travel Management. The combined business means that Wings is now generating a UK annual turnover of £100m.

“We expected Wings to move up the Top 50 TMC rankings for 2017 by a few places following our acquisition of Grosvenor, but the fact that we are now ranked as no. 20 is fantastic news,” said Paul East, chief operating officer, UK/Europe, Wings Travel Management. “This is an exciting time for Wings as we are in a strong position to build our client base in the high-end corporate sector, as well as companies in the oil and gas and marine industries, whilst also planning the strategic relocation of our global head office to London.”
