Quality comes first at Wings

Wings Travel Management’s quality management system, which is ISO 9001 certified, has been upgraded to the latest ISO 9001:2015 version of this international quality standard following a recent audit by Bureau Veritas.

The ISO upgrade coincides with the announcement that Wings’ proprietary Incident Free Index™ achieved near perfect results over the last 12 months.

Wings Incident-Free Index™, a key element of the company’s quality management system, is a bespoke application used by the quality assurance team to monitor any service failure, regardless of origin or scale. The Index creates a Process Improvement Report, or PIR, documenting the nature of the incident and any necessary or corrective measures that need implementing. Incidents can range from bags delayed by the airline, an hotel not managing the correct billing cycle, or a Wings servicing issue.

The entire process is transparent, culminating in monthly client-specific Incident-Free Index reports detailing total transactions against the percentage of incident-associated transactions.

Wings’ Incident Free Index rating for 2017/18 globally is 99.80%. In other words, only 0.2% of global transactions were reported as involving an incident. In the UK, where Wings is headquartered in London, the Incident Free Index rating for 2017/18 is 99.91%, meaning a mere 0.09% of UK transactions involved an incident.

“In keeping with our company values, professionalism is non-negotiable at Wings; we are passionate about quality and won’t settle for anything less than exceptional”, says Estelle Kruger, Head of Quality Assurance. “We are very proud of our quality management system of processes and tools that ensure structure, standardisation and a consistent approach across all of our locations. We focus every day on improving what we do, because our customers deserve the best possible service.”
