Wings strengthens US leadership team

Travel tech leader Ross Pratt hired to head Americas, as Chris Martin is elevated to global sales and product role

Wings Global Travel has appointed Ross Pratt to drive continued growth in North America as Managing Director and Senior Vice-President of the Americas.

Ross joins Wings from Trobexis, a provider of travel software as-a-service (SaaS) to the energy sector, after more than 15 years in the industry.

Wings also announced the promotion of Chris Martin to Senior Vice-President for Global Sales and Product Development.

Tony Sofianos, President and CEO of Wings, said: “Ross brings a wealth of travel industry experience to his new role. His focus on technology development to support great customer experience perfectly aligns with the Wings way of doing business. I’m delighted to welcome him to our family.”

Pratt said: “The most successful TMCs will be the ones that do the best job of bringing technology to bear on the customer experience to navigate the growing complexities of global travel. I’m excited to be leading the team that will propel Wings to further heights of success in the Americas.”

Pratt’s appointment coincides with the promotion of Chris Martin to SVP of Global Sales and Product Development, an enlarged role that will see Martin responsible for growing the product portfolio as well as leading the global sales effort.

Sofianos said: “I’m thrilled to see Chris step up to head the global business development effort and the products that will support this growth. As well as securing substantial new business for Wings, Chris has been instrumental in the development of our WingsOne service delivery platform. He will take the formal lead on product development as part of his expanded role.”

Martin said: “It’s not enough to have a global presence. The test is for travellers and clients to have the same experience of Wings wherever they deal with us in the world. That’s why WingsOne is so critical. Every product we offer has to contribute to a consistently great experience for travellers and seamless integration with our clients’ business processes. My job is to make sure that the service we sell is always the service we deliver.”
