Parts of Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport have been evacuated after a bomb threat was received, Dutch police say. A military police spokesman told Reuters news agency the two main international terminals, 1 and 2, had been evacuated.
Police were investigating the threat, he said. No flights have been affected by the evacuation so far, reports the BBC’s Anna Holligan in The Hague.
Schiphol is one of Europe’s busiest airports.
Some reports say the evacuation was sparked by a man claiming to have a bomb in an airport toilet.
Despite reports, Wings fully expect that this alert will result in some flight delays via Schiphol today as police take precautionary measures. We urge our passengers to make contact with their travel consultants in the event that they require assistance with re-routing or rebooking their flights. Additionally, we encourage passengers who might arrive at the airport to engage airline ground staff directly for immediate assistance as well.
